Hire our Newcastle Community Health bus and staff

The Newcastle Community Health Bus, Monty, is a purpose-built mobile clinic, staffed by qualified and experienced nurses and healthcare professionals, providing a dynamic and evolving range of healthcare services across the North East of England.

The bus can be used by both public and private sector organisations, with dual-room clinical space that is suitable for most clinical interventions, including health checks, cervical screening and vaccinations.

Health checks start at just £62.00 per person, charged at a daily rate. Bus hire costs range from £720 to £2000 on a weekday, dependant on service required and staff needed. You can also hire the bus and use your own health staff.

Reaching communities, reducing inequalities: Outreach impact 2025–26

This year’s Outreach Programme on Monty, the Newcastle Community Health Bus, delivered meaningful impact across Newcastle communities, improving access to health interventions and helping address health inequalities. Our team have produced a Health Inequalities Outreach Impact report for the year, detailing the work we have delivered.

This includes:

  • 78 clinics at 37 venues
  • 554 patients seen in areas of greatest need
  • 46% of patients from Black, south Asian, mixed or other ethnic minority background
  • Clinical findings highlighted opportunities for early intervention through blood pressure, smoking cessation and diabetes screening, while vaccination clinics supported local practices
  • 232 days of clinical supervision for pharmacy students from Newcastle University
  • 97% of patients would recommend the service

You can download the impact report here.

About our community health bus

The Newcastle Community Health Bus was established following a collaboration between NGPS and Newcastle University’s School of Pharmacy, initially to provide health check-ins to patients across Newcastle. The bus is now managed by NGPS.

The bus is now used for a number of services, managed by either NGPS in collaboration with others, or by partner organisations. These services include:

  • Research – by NGPS, National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and other partners
  • Cervical screening – in partnership with Northern Cancer Alliance, HealthWorks, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust and NHS England
  • Health check-ins – in partnership with Newcastle University’s School of Pharmacy

If you would like to speak to us about providing services using the bus, get in touch.

For more information on what happens at cervical screening appointments, watch the short film below, or visit the mobile screening website.
