Counselling Social Prescribing Link Worker

Salary £33,202 a year – full time, permanent post

We are looking for a Counselling Social Prescriber to support patients referred by GPs and other health professionals to address emotional, social, and psychological factors impacting their wellbeing. Working alongside health and voluntary sector partners, the role helps people build resilience and connect with appropriate non-clinical and therapeutic support such as low-level talking therapies, community-based wellbeing activities, peer support, or alternative counselling services.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in counselling, psychology, or therapeutic practice who is passionate about enabling people to make positive changes in their lives through a holistic, person-centred approach.

The NGPS Flexible Workforce Hub (Flexipool) provides staff to all 28 GP practices across Newcastle, as well as our Extended Access and Asylum Seeker Support Service. Please note: we only recruit staff with previous general practice experience.

Flexipool offers practices access to fully trained, skilled and experienced clinical and non-clinical staff, capable of working in a number of roles. Practices can request staff to cover planned leave, existing vacancies and short-notice unplanned absence.
