Our annual report outlines our achievements as the GP federation for Newcastle for the 12 months from October 2020 to September 2021, and includes details of our accounts for 1 February 2020 to 31 January 2021.
Our successes include:
- Providing urgent care and extended access services so patients can see a GP 8am to 10pm (11pm in ED), seven days a week.
- Operating a discrete Covid clinic (‘hot-site’) and home visiting service.
- Establishing and managing the local Covid vaccination service on behalf of Primary Care Networks and GP practices in the city, providing over 230,000 vaccinations at 100s of sessions and locations including care homes, sports centres, homeless shelters, places of worship and on our roving vaccine bus.
- Continuing to provide social prescribing services from all practices in the city with more than 7500 referrals carried out since 2017.
