GP collective action announcement from the BMA
We want to reassure all patients in Newcastle that GP practices are still open and providing appointments following the announcement on 1 August about collective action. If you need an appointment, please still contact your GP practice as normal. For more information, see the NHS website.
CONTRACTS
We work with GP surgeries, and other healthcare providers across Newcastle, managing a number of contracts for the city.
These include:
- Community health services
- Social prescribing
- Urgent care and extended access services
- Sexual health
- ECG
- ABPM
We also provide other services including health checks and support for asylum seekers, and a flexi-pool resource support for practices.
If you need to make an appointment with a GP, find your nearest surgery and contact them directly to register yourself as a patient. In an emergency, always call 999, or for non-urgent medical advice, please call 111.
