As a member organisation, the priority of NGPS is providing support to our members; general practices across the city of Newcastle.
This includes supporting the seven primary care networks (PCNs) in the city, training and development for staff at our member practices and projects such as supporting student nurses into primary care.
The team is working to improve workforce recruitment and retention across Primary Care in Newcastle, focusing on:
- Training and mentoring
- Recruitment
- Cover for staff sickness, holiday and vacancies through the Flexipool service
- Inductions
